WHEN TO TIE ONE ON
Around weed beds, rocky drop -offs, or sandy patches. At dawn or dusk or under lights at night.
HOW TO USE
• Use a light Egi rod paired with 0.6-1.0PE braid with a fluorocarbon leader
• Cast long and let the jig sink to the strike zone
• Work the jig with 1–2 sharp upward rod lifts, then pause and allow it to sink—this is when squid usually strike.
• Vary your retrieve speed and jigging action depending on conditions.
• In clear water, opt for natural colours. In low light or dirty water, try UV or bright colours.
THINK OUTSIDE THE SQUARE
•Try hovering the jig mid-water when squid are shy slow lifts and long pauses.
• Don’t be afraid to change jig size or colour regularly until you find what works.
